Augusta Auction's Spring Sale features an eclectic selection of fabulous vintage fashion, rare and historic textiles from the Brooklyn Museum, 18th- early 20th century shoes, hats, handbags, and a wide assortment of fashion accessories. Our studio is filled with American, European and Asian treasures from the 16th through the late 20th century. Items to be sold include hand embroidered textiles and tapestries, fine lace, 20th C. vintage & couture garments and a Renaissance Revival gown by Worth.
Of particular interest are several sets of domestic textiles from the world-renowned Reuben Bliss House Period Rooms at the Brooklyn Museum as well as two fully restored early 17th C tapestries. Also included in the upcoming sale are a plethora of vintage designer and couture by Issey Miyake, Valentino, Yves Saint Laurent, Bill Blass, Versace, Oscar de la Renta, Hermes, Balmain, Christian Lacroix, Patrick Kelly, Bonnie Cashin, Courreges, Cardin, Mugler, Dior and several gowns originally from the Geoffrey Beene Archive.
