Both silk taffeta: 2-pc ribbon stripe in green, tan & black w/ wide bateau neckline, bodice fullness into CF pleats, shaped manipulated gigot sleeve, knife pleated skirt, fragmented pelerine, late 1840s, B 32”, W 24”, L 52” (very altered esp bodice & & slv, broad discoloration, repairs to underarms, shattering to slv & pelerine, tiny holes, seam openings up to 4”); 1 woven w/ ombre striped plaid, copper colored silk taffeta plasterone w/ self-covered buttons, piped armscye, originally 1860s re-made c. 1878, B 30”, W 22”, L 50”, (broad discoloration, many seam openings up to 16”, 1.5” tear CF lap below placket, shattering, tiny holes, missing all closures) both fair. Deaccessioned by the Valentine Museum.
