Hanging panel, possibly a curtain or valance of brocaded silk w/ silver thread, polychrome ribbon, lace & floral meander pattern on off white pattern ground, several pieces seamed w/ scalloped lower edge, applied border of gilt bobbin lace, off-white cotton backing copperplate printed in pastoral scene motif dated 1839, metal rings stitched to upper reverse edge. 52.5” x 42.5”, (moderate shatter to silk, tarnish & loss to metal threads & lace, light discoloration to both sides) Fair. Provenance: Brooklyn Museum.
