Pair of homespun & handwoven wool blankets from the trousseau of Elizabeth Hulse, Long Island, NY, c. 1770, 2 loom widths joined: 1 w/ warp single thread warp stripes w/ crossbands of brown & pale indigo blue, 80” x 72”, (light wear, minor discoloration, sm light spot stains); 1 w/ two-color cross check in indigo & natural brown wool on cream wool, 80” x 72”, (few tiny-0.25” holes, light wear, sm pulls) both excellent. Provenance: Brooklyn Museum.
