Tan goat skin turn boots, heeless soles & fold down shafts, Ht 11", Foot L 11.25", (stained) very good. Purchased in 1874 by Lieutenant Richard Frederick Meysey-Thompson, Adjutant of the 2nd Battalion Rifle Brigade en route to battles in Africa, note (torn) tied onto these boots: "Madeira Boots…purchased at Frenchal.
