19th C fine handmade needle lace in meandering bow & rose pattern, c/o 1 trained skirt, 1 sleeveless bodice w/ sweetheart neckline & 1 pair unattached sleeves, B 33", W 24"-26", Skirt L 46"-62", (holes & breaks in net, skirt w/ 2 darts on each hip to be resewn, 1890 sleeves removed when restyled in 1933, bodice front not sewn to back) very good. Provenance Mrs. Eckel, Chicago, IL. Includes photo of portrait of Mrs. Eckel & letter from Marshall Field & Co to her describing this antique lace dress.
