Our September 8th New England specialty antique costume and textile auction will again take place during antique market week at Brimfield. Our New England location, the Sturbridge Host Hotel, is less than seven miles east of the Brimfield antique fields, and about an hour from Boston’s Logan Airport (BOS). Our September sale in the Host Hotel ballroom will be held rain or shine.

To be Sold

European and Asian treasures from the 17th through late 20th centuries: vintage & designer garments with large volumes from the 1950’s & 1960’s, abundant 19th C clothing, quilts, coverlets, hand embroidered & woven textiles, quantity of handmade & machine made paisley shawls, mens garments and accessories, exceptional heirloom laces, early Chinese & Japanese embroideries, weavings and robes, hundreds of fashion accessories - shoes, fans, hats, bonnets, beaded bags, jewelry, ephemera, etc.

Consignors

These rare objects have been hidden away for decades in storage facilities of many legendary American museums: The Brooklyn Museum (NY), Northampton Historical Society (MA), The Heritage Society of Houston (TX), The Columbus Museum (GA), The Chrysler Museum of Art (VA), The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (CA) and others. These amazing collections, as well as selections from other institutions, estates and individual consignors will be sold to the highest bidder, free of any minimum bids or reserves. All catalogued auction lots and discovery sale objects will sell on September 8.

Sale Details

Our cataloged sale begins late afternoon at 4pm, just as Brimfield’s shopping fields are closing for the day. We have catalogued 331 large trade and collector lots that are guaranteed to please every serious collector of vintage fashion and textiles. Many additional boxes will sell right after the completion of the catalogued lot sale at our Discovery Sale. All items in the Discovery Sale are uncatalogued with boxes to be opened and contents revealed just prior to bidding. This very large catalog sale and the additional Discovery boxes promise an exciting evening -  full of surprises for all who stay to the end. 

Absentee, phone and internet bidding options will not be available for our Sturbridge sale.
